Keep on the Sunny Side

Grammy has sun envy. Here in Grammy's backyard, the sun reaches the cannagirls around 10 AM each morning. Round about 4 in the afternoon, the shade of a Cook pine casts a shadow across the growing pots. At best we're getting 6 hours of sun, although as we move toward the summer solstice, the pine shadow will move, the sun's rays will clear the roofline earlier, and the girls should enjoy something closer to 8 - 9 hours of sunshine.
Meanwhile, over at Doctor Green's house, the sun hits the growing girls by 8 AM and continues, uninterrupted, until sunset, which these days is around 7:30 PM. The difference in available sunlight means that Doctor Green's girls are leaps and bounds ahead of Grammy's. The difference is apparent when we compare Grammy's "Jorge's Diamond", on the left, with Doc Green's plant. Same seed, sprouted the same day, planted the same day, but Doc's gets way more sun than Grammy's does, and is subsequently taller, wider and has more sets of leaves.
Finding a good location in your yard is important and can make a real difference in plant health and, ultimately, yield. Find your sunny spot and embrace it!
