Green Grass and High Tides

Grammy made the rounds of the neighborhood gardens this week, and over at Gabby Green's house we encountered an otherwise lovely big plant with a fixable problem. And we were able to diagnose the problem with the help of the fine folks at Loud Clouds in Colorado.
This particular plant is growing in the ground in the middle of the tomato patch, and so she's competing for nutrients. Based on the yellowing pattern in the leaves, she needs more nitrogen, so we dropped off a box of Dr. Earth Organic Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer as a start. We discussed worm castings as a supplement, but as Gabby is not one to fertilize the tomato garden after the initial planting, we figured Something is better than Nothing and left it at that.
