Going Old School
April 29, 2021

By Grammy Green
Sort of... Grammy's been dawdling, waiting for the weather to warm up. We're about a month late in sprouting this year, and Grammy's going back to the wet paper towel method.
This year's lineup has a couple of legendary strains from the 1960s. Here's what we're growing this year:
1. Super Silver Haze, Coastal Genetics, 90% Sativa/10% Indica
2. Strawberry Haze, Advanced Genetics, 75% Sativa/25% Indica
3. Blueberry Cheesecake, Advanced Genetics, 60% Sativa/40% Indica
4. Panama Red, Coastal Genetics, 100% Sativa
5. Acapulco Gold, Original Kush, 80% Sativa/20% Indica
6. Blackberry Bubble, Dutchman Seeds, Indica
All of our seeds came from Pacific Seed Bank. Although a sharp-eyed reader would notice a seventh seed on the plate. That's Cumulonimbus' Jupiter, leftover from last year, and acquired from True North Seed Bank. We're sprouting that one for Doctor Green, who is still working his way through the 6 quarts of Jupiter buds from last year's crop.
Another change for this year, Grammy's putting the sprouted seeds straight into their outdoor pots, instead of the interim peat pot method. More laziness, maybe. Although we are also trying out new (to us) organic nutrients from Dutch Science. We've started the girls on their Organic Seed and Root Starter. Now it's just a matter of waiting 2 - 3 days to see what we get. Joy in the garden!
