A Room With a View

Despite the late start, the interference by racoons and possums, and a hazy summer sky, the autoflowering girls are flowering. Last year Grammy fought a battle with Cabbage moths, who like to lay eggs in the cannabis buds. Little green caterpillars then eat the buds from the inside, leaving a brown, wasted bud in their wake. We resorted to using Spinosad, and although it's organic, really don't like spraying anything on our girls.
This year we're taking a different approach. As flowers begin to appear, we're moving the plants into a temporary screened crop cage. It will keep the butterflies and moths out, and we won't have to pick though the browning buds to extract caterpillars by hand. At least, that's the theory.
The photoperiod plants, all of which lean to the sativa side, are still in the growth stage, so they don't need to be caged yet. Really looking forward to that Acapulco Gold!
